This is Earle Rock Studios first blog post and to be honest, there is no rule book to follow. I have been an artist most of my life. Resources were invested in advanced degrees, in the pursuit of becoming more accomplished and developing a greater understanding of what art is and what it means to others. It is still a mystery most of the time. And most of the time, it isn't really clear if this thing I have dedicated my life to has value outside of my own navel gazing.
Regardless, day in and day out for the past 30 years, the dedication has been renewed. So much has transpired and I have experienced so much transformation; not only as an artist but as a person.

There have been many experiments that led to successes, and many more that led to the trash bin.
There have been many whose words were not worth heeding, and many of those prematurely dismissed words ultimately challenged me to grow beyond my then definitions. But I never lost my love of creativity or my artistic pretentiousness, thank goodness.
In this blog, I will always strive to share aspects of the creative journey that the finished works do not readily reveal. To express is to share something personal. However, it is vital to be able to relate. We are all having an experience, and we are all sharing in the experience of that experience. Jeesh! Did I really just write that?!? There is that artistic proclivity towards pretentiousness again. Thankfully, among the greatest lessons learned over the years is the time, place and benefit of humor. Let's see where this blog thing goes. The image embedded in this post is a close up of a new painting. It is, as of the date of this post, not yet finished. There is much more to the composition and when it is ready for prime time, it will be shared along with it's artist statement.
Until next blog, be well, be prosperous, be kind to each other and may your best work of art be your life.
